Every summer, Vichy becomes one with the art it hosts at the Portrait(s) Photography Fe stival, held in a variety of locations in the city. This year is the fifth anniversary of the festival.
The festival celebrates portraits of all kinds, whether based in the documentary tradition or in pure fiction, intimacy or more conceptual schemes.
Portrait(s) presents ten exhibitions, being held simultaneously in the city centre and in the open. The galleries of the Centre Culturel Valery-Larbaud will feature work by Stephen Shames, Christer
Strömholm, Catherine Balet, Pierre Gonnord, Claudia Imbert and Modds agency portraitists.
Portrait(s) is delighted to present Chinese photographer Liu Bolin’s first open-air retrospective, on the Lac d’Allier esplanade.
On the Place Saint-Louis are exhibited dreamlike, bucolic images created by Sandra Rocha, a young Portuguese photographer, during her residency.
